South Downs Way Food - Where to Eat

Stopping for some fuel will most certainly be an important factor when walking the South Downs Way. While refreshments on the Way are few and far between, our South Downs Way food section lists some of the pubs, cafes and restaurants that are within walking distance of the route, so you can find the best choice of where to eat on the South Downs Way during your trip.

You will find some refreshments en-route, particularly over at Ditchling Beacon where, on weekends a coffee van visits and serves delicious coffee and cakes! It is recommended to bring plenty of food and drink with you to keep you going throughout the day, but after a hard day walking, biking or riding you may be looking for something a little more substantial to eat and be in need of a nice pub or hot cooked meal!

Our South Downs Way food guide is split into three distinct sections; Cafes, Pubs and Restaurants, so that no matter what type of food you are in search of, you can find what you’re looking for quickly and easily.
