Kingston to Alfriston (11 Miles)

This section of the South Downs Way route takes you from Kingston to Alfriston. Once back up on the path it continues up on the ridge rather flat for a while. This area is popular with paragliders so keep your eyes peeled! You eventually descend into the village of Southese past the Church of St Peter and there is a water point there just at the entrance of the Church.

Continue along the path, through many grassy fields for quite some way, over Firle Beacon and then past Bo Peep car park, this will be shown in more detail on whichever South Downs Way walk map you decide to use, eventually, you descend into Alfriston.

Alfriston has many options for both eating and staying. For places to stay, you can try Chestnuts B&B or The Smugglers for food and accommodation. Other options include The George Inn or for camping, you can try Alfriston Camping. There are many pubs in Alfriston, a bakery and village shop so you can get your essentials for the last leg of the journey.
